PRESENTATION OF THE UNITED NATIONS ASSOCIATION OF CÔTE D'IVOIRE

The United Nations Association in Côte d’Ivoire was created by Mr. Lanciné Diakité, president of Grand Triangle, Inc., after the first organization representing the republic of Côte d’Ivoire next to the World Federation of United Nations Associations has ceased working.

The current President of UNA-CI, namely the young doctor Drissa Coulibaly, seeks untiringly to promote his association through the implementation of innovative programs in Côte d'Ivoire as well as elsewhere in the world.

Today’s UNA-CI is an agency which aims at searching for the United Nations guidelines and peace-related situations, security, health, education, development and human rights in Côte d'Ivoire.

The UNA-CI board is a catalyst for action, understanding and perspectives of economic development projects in line with the United Nations Millennium Development Goals.

Together with its local members spread across the territory and those living in America and Europe, the UNA-CI combines a broad awareness of ordinary people with high-level researches on policies involving researchers and government representatives from various parts of the world, new ideas and identifies potential areas of cooperation. Through a series of programs, UNA-CI keeps on doing its best to get the public involved in the Ivorian debate on the foreign policy priorities and to provide institutions, executive authority, business, NGOs, public and media with information and educational materials.

Thanks to its national and international network, UNA-CI affects millions of concerned citizens who want to make their voices heard at the UN high level. It mainly works with a team of members who volunteer.

Its operating funds are provided by private foundations, corporations, individuals and the contributions of its members. Other funds are provided by the organization's fundraising and governmental grants.
